1st Day of Chemo

Well my mom did it--her first day of chemo. My dad took off for a week and thanks to the ladies at church and in the neighborhood--our family has been FEASTING on all sorts of yummy foods.
Here's mom with Tyler a few days before her first chemo session

You just got a cute haircut! I wanna see it! (look at all those fun hats)

Gulp...making her way into the center...(reminds me of the pictures that missionaries take before going into the MTC--hahaha!)

These are her words as this was happening: "I just imagined that the nurse was putting chocolate syrup into my body and that it would heal everything inside." (from a family of boys--chocolate syrup usually does heal EVERYTHING...)

Just hanging out (I didn't realize chemo took 6 hours---zzzzzzzz)

She's eating. That's a good sign.

Here's momma--looking good!

Mom after her first chemo session. Quote from mom, "I think the reason my body felt so heavy after chemo is because of all the chocolate syrup. It just filled me up!"
I talked to my dad after mom's first session and asked, "So when is mom sicker: right now with cancer or when she's pregnant?" Without hesitation my dad said (as my mom yelled from the background--apparently I was on speaker), "Definitely sicker when pregnant." Great--now there's a lot to look forward to ;0)

  1. Congratulations for making it through your first day! I love the chocolate syrup thought! That makes me happy. Next time I have an IV, I am totally stealing that idea! Thanks for spreading joy all the time, Aunt Jenny! We love you!

  2. You're amazing! Congratulations. My mom was just telling me the other day because we were talking about people who got sick during pregnancy and you were the first person that came out of her mouth so when i was reading this i immediately thought of all of that

  3. Glad to hear that the chemo session went well and was easier than being pregnant for you! I remeber you getting pretty sick when you were pregnant...cant say I am much of a fan of being pregnant either! I will pray that each session on chemo is easier than being pregnant!
